Sara -Jane and John Paul chose to tie the knot at a game lodge just under 2 hours from Johannesburg, South Africa. They fell in love with the golden hues of the bush and the elephant experience they were able to encounter on their wedding day.
The chosen setting for the ceremony was in a hidden forest that provided much of the backdrop and theme to this occasion. Together, we wanted to keep the essence and natural beauty of the forest so it was decided to keep the decor for the ceremony simple. Our aim was to compliment nature rather than take over. We hung white lanterns in the trees and draped the wedding arch in green eucalyptus leaves. The aisle was lined with wooden logs on top of which we placed moss, orchid flowers, succulents and interesting greenery and florals. We scattered a thick covering of dried leaves down the aisle to enhance the aisle experience. The flower girls, dressed in pretty pale pink, played joyfully with these leaves and it was a wonderful distraction for them and the guests while we eagerly waited for Sara-Jane to arrive.
After the ceremony guests were escorted back to the lodge for sundowners and drinks while the couple chose to capture their nuptials with the setting African sun and golden bush colours.
The table decor and flowers for the wedding reception were primarily based on golds, blush pinks and touches of blue. The theme of the forest was introduced back onto the table with a gold sprayed leaf at each place setting. Blush pink proteas gazed beautifully at guests out of glass and gold painted vases. The candles and lights twinkled in the reception room. Blue detail was subtly introduced through the stationery and menu and a blue and white striped ribbon attached to each individual gold leaf. It was beautiful to see Sara-Jane’s reaction when she secretly walked into the room, (before her guests) to marvel at the transformation of the space by our creative design team. All the creative ideas, colours and concepts came together beautifully to give her a twinkling backdrop to her wedding reception.
Sara- Jane came to Tickled Pink for guidance and totally trusted us to run with her ideas. I believe our team gave her and her guests something she could not have imagined before we started consulting her on her flowers, decor and wedding. For for that I am truly grateful for such a wonderful and rewarding opportunity.
Love and Thanks the Tickled Pink Wedding planning team
